Britta Knits!

Though I am in mourning today for the devastating end to the Cowboy's season, I do have some happy news to report. I've updated my website to include a new Britta Knits section in the photo album where I'm displaying my current obsesssion with the art of knitting.

For a teaser, this is a pic of a recent knit-then-felt project that I like to call "Hello, I'm a Tree Hugger Yoga Mat Carrier." More details on the site...

Have a hobby? A current obsession? Do tell...

Maybe you could knit his and hers beach towels for Tony and Jessica. I'm sure they are headed back to beach now that he has lots of free time.

Love the knitting pics! I think you should go on Project Runway and knit all of your creations; it's be unique. I honestly don't know how you balance all your reading, writing, and knitting.

I can't believe you did not mention your bikini! Britta knit a fabulous bikini last summer and wore it on vacation fleeing from hurricane Dean. She was the foxiest evacuee in Jamaica. I have a great photo, if I can figure out how to post it, I will. She also knit me the perfect winter cap. It is light weight, warm, and itch-free. We need a picture aof that as well.

Thanks, Bluebonnet! Although, with the speed of those challenges I wouldn't be able to knit very much...maybe a really wide scarf? As for balance, I'm still working on it...I tend to go in streaks of one or the other.

And Kern, there is NO way there will be a bikini pic on this site, thankyouverymuch. And, to set the record straight, I didn't wear the bikini in the actual evacuation. Running in two-piece knitwear with seven pieces of oversized luggage just doesn't work, no matter the adrenaline panic.

When are you going to post about best books of 2007?

Just started reading your Potter Springs book. Admittedly, I am usually hesitant when my mom picks out books for me (I am currently in my second year as a graduate student in the creative writing/library science program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee--I KNOW MY BOOKS!), but I decided to give it a try.

And I am amazed. Haven't finished it yet, but for a first book I am impressed.

Stellar.

Really.

It rocks my socks off.

You are so cute! Just finished looking at all your photos and I can't decide which I like better: the tree hugger yoga mat carrier or the photo of the tree hugger yoga mat carrier.

Why, thank you Sarah Joy! I hope you find the end of the book as enjoyable as the beginning. (Personally, I think it gets better along the way.) And hats off on being in a creative writing program and finding time for extra-curricular reading. A tough balance, I know.

Tyler, I'm tickled you liked that photo. It's my favorite of the bunch, maybe because of the lighting. You know, the mat looks so cute in the holder I have to remind myself it's not just a prop. Note to self: must unravel to actually do the yoga.
